Mid-range smartphone done right by Motorola
Motorola has been on a roll ever since it has launched the Moto G4 Plus under Lenovo and has been churning out some impressive devices recently. The year started with a blast for the brand as it launched Moto Z and Moto Z Play, dubbed as one of its most impressive flagship so far. Now, the brand has come out with the Motorola Moto M, which has the same design as that of its flagship siblings and makes for an impressive budget smartphone under INR 20,000. Exclusive to Flipkart, this handset is expected to sell very well and here is a brief overview of the device for our readers. One of the best handset to come out, off late.
Why Should You buy?
Stunning Display: Motorola has equipped the new handset with the same stunning display that was found on the Moto G4 Plus. It measures 5.5-inches corner to corner across the diagonal and is a delight to watch. Also, the resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels makes for a sharp and accurate clarity yet preserving the battery unlike Quad-HD displays.
Proper fingerprint scanner: One of the biggest grievance that Moto G4, G4 Plus, Moto Z and Moto Z Play had was the placement of the fingerprint scanner. Unlike Samsung, the front mounted fingerprint scanner on these devices was not a home button but was just a scanner and served no other purpose besides looking ugly. It seems that the brand has paid heed to the complaints as Moto M has read mounted fingerprint scanner and the where the fingerprint scanner used to be in older handsets, there is a pleasant Moto branding.
Water-resistant design: There is no word regarding whether the device comes with the signature Corning Gorilla Glass layer on the display but it brings one signature trait from Moto lineup. The Nano-coating on the body that has been present since first ever Moto G also protects the latest Moto M from accidental splashes and spills.
Metal design: This is the first time ever that the American brand has opted for an all metal unibody design for its handset. With this, Motorola has launched a handset that not only performs well but also looks and feels good in the hand. Apart from the metal build, the handset looks just like its predecessors.
Why Should You Not buy?
MediaTek Processor: One of the biggest drawback of the device has to be the presence of MediaTek processor under the hood. This is particularly surprising since its predecessors all came with a Snapdragon unit driving the performance.
Any Alternative?
HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle: While Motorola Moto M happens to be a better handset, HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle boasts of a Snapdragon processor. This might be a deciding factor for many users, who prefer performance over style. HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle even matches the Moto M in design department and makes for a good alternative.
