Google has finally arrived on Android Smartphone turf
Google has finally put its Nexus lineup of smartphone and has launched the newest Pixel smartphones this year. Already, the smartphones have attracted a lot of attention from smartphone lovers with many claiming it to be the real iPhone Killer. From killer design to bleeding edge features, Google Pixel has it all to conquer the smartphone market. However, the only downside of the handset is that it comes with a massive price tag and is not exactly Indian buyer material. Here is a brief overview into the pros and cons of the handset for those who are looking to buy one.
Why Should You buy?
Google AI, Allo and Duo: To give competition to Apple's Siri, Google has now finally integrated the Google Assistant in the device itself. This means that everything your are doing receiving and sending out on this smartphone, Google Assistant is always listening and ready to help you with anything. This is the future! Google Pixel also comes with Allo to compete with likes iMessage and Whatsapp as well as Duo to comepete with Facetime.
Best camera with 89 DxOMark Mobile score: At the launch event, Google highlighted the fact that DxOMark Mobile has rated the camera on Google Pixel at 89, which is the highest till date. The handset has beaten the likes of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, which is a huge brownie point. Google has gone down to 12.3 Megapixels snapper but with bigger 1.5 microns pixels. What this means is that it takes in more lights and details than usual smartphone camera.
Unique Glass and Metal design: This year Google was involved in every aspect of the design and everything else. It only used HTC's plant to manufacture device and that is where Taiwanese brand's contribution ended. Google has managed to come up with a design that is part metal and part glass on the rear panel. This looks absolutely stunning and different from the existing breed of smartphones.
Pixel Imprint fingerprint scanner: This handset comes with what Google likes to call Google Imprint fingerprint scanner. It is expected to be the fastest and accurate fingerprint scanner, which is something we all would love.
Why Should You Not buy?
Too costly: The brand has priced the handset ridiculously high for the base 32 GB variant and that is something which prevents most buyers from even considering it. This is completely different perspective from Nexus devices, which were intended to provide top notch features in lower price.
Any Alternative?
Apple iPhone 7: The price at which Google Pixel is expected to launch, there is only one alternative to it viz. IPhone 7. Both are completely different devices but it makes more sense to get an iPhone at this price with latest iOS, beautiful harmony between hardware and software as well as the simplest UI. You cannot go wrong with iPhone 7 at this price.
